This month we’re watching Bell, Book and Candle (1958) a supernatural romantic comedy directed by Richard Quine, starring James Stewart and Kim Novak. A Manhattan witch (Novak) falls in love with a publisher (Stewart) after casting a spell on him that obliges him to dump his fiancée and pursue her instead. The supporting cast features Jack Lemmon, Ernie Kovacs, Hermione Gingold, Elsa Lanchester and Janice Rule. The film is considered Stewart's final role as a romantic lead.
