Program Description

Event Details

Haiku in the Key of Sunlight is a spirited, generative poetry workshop for adults that shines a fresh light on the ancient form of haiku. We’ll explore how haiku – brief, beautiful bursts of language – can illuminate our relationship with the natural world, the urgency of climate awareness, and the power of a single moment. Using the sun as symbol, spark, and presence, we’ll write new work inspired by solar energy, heat, light, seasons, shadows, and renewal.

Led by a published poet, dynamic teacher and lifelong Branford resident Amy Levitin Graver, this 90-minute session blends short readings, guided prompts, playful constraints, and time to generate your own sun-charged haiku. Whether you’re new to poetry or a practiced hand, come ready to surprise yourself – and perhaps even share your spark aloud.

☀️ Come for the writing. Stay for the radiance. No experience necessary – just curiosity, a creative spirit, and a love of light.

Registration is required for this event, as space is limited.
