Spend a day exploring everything the Blackstone has to offer. Tour the building, explore our Library of Things, and more!
Guided Library Tour at 10am: Take a tour of the Blackstone, learn historical tidbits, and get an insider’s look into a day in the life of a Blackstone Library employee. Tour meets in the Rotunda by the Reference Desk. Registration encouraged, but drop-ins welcome!
Meet the Library of Things: Blackstone has always offered more than books, but do you know how much more? Stop by the library and meet our Library of Things! Funded by the Friends of the Blackstone Library, it’s our newest collection of nontraditional library items like a Go-Pro camera, electric guitar, metal detector, lawn games, Nintendo Switch, and more. Play around, test them out, and, take them home!
Show Your Library Love with Our Button Maker: Tell the world how much you love the Blackstone with a custom button! You can draw your own design, or use one of our pre-printed templates. Then use our button maker to preserve your artwork permanently as a piece of wearable art.
Contribute to Our Community Puzzle: Can our community do a whole puzzle in one day? Let’s find out! Take a break from all the activity and put together a few pieces on our Great American Novels puzzle. If you love puzzles (who doesn’t!?) be sure check out our honor system puzzle collection on the ground level before you go.
All ages welcome and families welcome! No registration required.
