Join Branford resident and author Amy J. Barry as she shares her new picture book, A Cat All His Own. Listen to the book, based on an (almost) true story, then do a fun art project! Finish off with a book signing. For ages 4 to 8.
About the Book: Ryan wants a cat all his own. His older brother Aaron has his very own cat — Jeremy Pumpkinhead. But when Dad surprises Ryan with a kitten — he names her Gadean — she is feisty and fun, but not cuddly and snuggly, and she never ever purrs, which makes Ryan sad. Until one day…. A Cat All His Own reminds kids AND adults that things can change for the better, often when we least expect it.
About the Author: Amy J. Barry (Mom) lives on the Connecticut shoreline with her husband Tim (Dad) and Buddy B. (a dog!) She is the true-life mother of the now adult Aaron and Ryan. She is an award-winning print journalist, columnist, reviewer, editor, published poet, and author of A Child's Grief Journey— a picture book for bereaved children, endorsed by Education World. Amy is also a certified expressive arts educator, facilitating classes and workshops that help adults and kids tap into their playful, intuitive right-brain creativity.
